Born in August 1887 in Awsworth Notts, to Henry and Sarah Lamin. Elder Sisters Catherine (Kate), Mary Esther and Sarah Anne(Annie) and Elder brother John (Jack).
Educated at Awsworth Board School, just outside Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England.

Last week I visited Hill 60 with my brother and family, and saw the Caterpilar crater - we took a photo. It certainly makes an impression! Thank you for sharing all this. My grandfather (S Staffs) survived Passchendaele with a blighty wound, and we went to "walk the ground" as near as possible to the 90th anniversary.
